Ingredients
- 500 g prawns, peeled and deveined
- 1 tsp salt (for marination)
- 1 tsp black pepper (for marination)
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup corn flour
- Chilled water (as needed for batter)
- 4–5 tbsp buffalo sauce or chili sauce
- ½ glass milk
- 1–3 jalapenos, sliced
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste (for butter milk marinade)
- 2–3 tbsp butter milk (for dipping before frying)
- Oil for deep frying
Directions
Step 1
Marinate the Prawns: In a bowl, combine prawns with salt, black pepper, and vinegar. Let them sit for 10–15 minutes. In another bowl, mix milk, jalapenos, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to create a flavorful butter milk dip. Dip the marinated prawns into this mixture.
Step 2
Prepare the Batter: In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour, corn flour, and chilled water to make a smooth, thick batter. Coat the butter milk-soaked prawns in this batter evenly. Add buffalo or chili sauce to taste, mixing gently with the prawns before frying.
Step 3
Fry the Prawns: Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the battered prawns in batches until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
