Ingredients

  • 8pc bread slice
  • 3 cup milk
  • 1/2 tin condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1/2 tsp green cardamon powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1

Fry the Bread: Cut the edges of 8 bread slices if desired. Heat 1 cup oil in a pan on medium flame and fry the bread slices until golden brown and crisp on both sides. Remove and place on paper towel to absorb excess oil. Set aside.

Step 2

Prepare the Rabri: In a heavy-bottom pan, add 3 cups milk and condensed milk (or khoya if using). Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until the milk thickens to a rabri consistency. Add sugar and green cardamom powder, mix well, and cook until slightly creamy and rich. You can add zarda color at this stage if desired.

Step 3

Assemble & Garnish: Arrange the fried bread slices in a serving dish. Pour the warm, thick rabri generously over the bread. Garnish with sliced almonds, pistachios, and edible silver leaf (chandi warq).

Your rich, creamy, and royal Shahi Tukra is ready to serve.
